Well it’s been much too long since I have posted anything, and I guess I need to get back in swing of things with the wedding season not too far away. I had planned to post a bunch of my favorites photos of the 2009 a month ago, but I can never choose which photos I like best and I’ve way too busy playing xbox.  The images below are linked to the rest of the blog images from that wedding, so click on them to see more.

EDIT:  The gold rush didn’t last long.  Less than a day after I made this post the cashback percentages fell to normal ranges.  Ebay went up to 20% for a few hours and then back down to 8%.

The holidays always seem to be the best time to buy gear (or anything else for that matter).  If you are looking for a DSLR or some nice lenses, now is the time to pull the trigger.  Some of the best deals going seem to be at www.wal-mart.com after using bing.com.  Currently you can receive 20% off your purchase!

How to get 20% off Wal-Mart.com using Bing.com.

• Go to bing.com using internet explorer (other browsers may not always work).
• Click the shopping link and search for “walmart”.  You should see  a link on the right that says 20% off at Wal-Mart.com.
• Once you click that you will have to sign in or sign up with bing.
• You will see a message telling you you will get 20% off your purchase for just a second or two and then you will find yourself on Wal-Marts site.  And anything but gift cards and you will receive the discount.
• It will NOT show up when you check out.  You will get a email from bing afterwards (I have heard it can take up to two days but mine have always shown up within an hour).  For my last purchase it let me know that I will get my 20% cashback in 60 days.  If you use paypal to pay you will probably get it instantly.

This is a Cyberweek special.  I doubt it will last very much longer.

Some of the best deals on Nikon gear have already been sold out online.  The best deal I had seen was for the Nikon D90 with the 70-300mm VR lens for 1,199 before the cashback.  That was a great deal I wish I had pulled the trigger on before it sold out.  But I did jump on board for the ultra-wide Nikon 10-24mm lens to replace my 12-24mm, and a new SB-900 flash!

How to get 15% off of anything on Ebay

• Go to bing.com using internet explorer (other browsers don’t seem to always work).
• Click the shopping link and search for “wii”.  You should see  a link on the right that says 15% off at Ebay if using Paypal.
• Once you click the link and sign in to bing.com you will be taken to Ebay.
• At the top of the page you will see a green “Microsoft cashback 15%”  logo.
• You must use “buy it now” and you must pay with Paypal.
• It will NOT show up when you check out.  You will get a email from bing after wards (I have heard it can take up to two days but mine have always shown up within an hour).   If you use paypal to pay you will probably get it instantly.  You can go back to bing.com and log into your cashback account to check on your status.

Normally you can use Bing.com/cashback to get 8% off of Ebay items so this is nice little boost.  Last year for a very short period, cashback on Ebay reached 35%!!!  However, you can only save up to $200 per item.

So if your in the market for a DSLR, I’d take a look what Wal-Mart has to offer.  If you are looking for some lenses, 15% off of ebay is very nice.

Everyday I sit around and think I should blog about this or that and I never do it. Today I am publicly challenging myself in front of my 2 blog readers (hi mom, hi Angie) to get on her more often and just write stupid stuff for you guys to read. Why? Because the world deserves to hear about what Kentucky’s self-proclaimed 42nd best wedding photographer has to say! So here is the plan: I challenge myself to blog at least once every three days even if it has nothing about photography. And now that we are in December there aren’t too many weddings to shoot (hi Erin), so the blog will be getting lonely unless I post something every now and then. It’s also a way for potential couples to get an idea of my personality.

So if your reading this, help me stay motivated and leave a comment. You don’t have to register or anything. Let me know what you would like to see on here. I am always tempted to write technical stuff, but I never do.
